| The excursion aims at developing an overall view of prehistoric excavations in the municipal area of the city for the participants. By visiting significant site and panoramic points of orientation, the modifications and continuities among settlement patterns will be demonstrated. In an accompanying guide, brief abstracts concerning the chronological development of the observed areas will be included. |

| The plateau of the Leopoldsberg permits one of the most impressive sights of the whole area. Because of the dominant natural position this site together with the neighbouring Bisamberg northerly the Danube accommodated remarkable hill settlements in the later phases of prehistory. |

| Facing south-west from the lower slopes of the Laaerberg over the lower Liesing-valley. The entirely area brought up evidence for the continuously habitation from the middle Neolithic onwards. It is one of a dense system of settlementareas which can be studied in the course of the brook. |
