Since
Peter's death, we have had to hit the ground running, picking
up the pieces as we went along. We explored and acted on new
business and research when it was possible, continuing with
our schools programme and our research students to finance
the ongoing vision. With these aims in view, Peter's plans
for the geophysics test bed have continued to develop, with
its needs becoming clearer all the while. In the years to
come, we will be able to offer any disciple of geophysics
stable areas of practice together with the baseline data to
compile their own research and experience. We welcome all
contributors of ideas and practitioners who are willing to
help us build for the future.
In
terms of the future, we must find ways of financing the ongoing
work. This means spreading the word, telling all those we
meet what we can do for them, and the work we own that can
support them. We need a regular supply of students to use
our facilities, and for us to use them in return. We have
to build firmer contacts with other disciplines and new ideas
that will pay for our continued work.
