The Cederberg Rock Art Survey Project: Part II - A coordinate Field Record and Database Structure

This lecture presents the main features of a database application with a coordinate field recording structure that facilitates a completely digital record, storage and manipulation of rock art related observations. Data management, data credibility and transparency, as well as intuitive usability of this application are key objectives of this pilot studies in one of the prominent rock art areas of southern Africa. Established and reliable recording methods are combined with digital technology to realise these objectives. A short example will be used to illustrate the potential of this tool.
